| Abstract: | The flux reversal machine (FRM) is a doubly
salient stator permanent magnet machine with
flux linkage reversal in the stator concentrated winding. This machine is well suited for low speed low power application. It has high value of self inductance and requires reactive power support. Passive and active voltage compensation methods for FRM and their suitability for variable speed are discussed. This paper proposes three phase FRM for variable speed rooftop wind power generation. A closed loop control scheme for power extraction from FRM generator with voltage compensation using PWM boost rectifier is proposed. The steady state performance of the machine at constant
and variable speed is evaluated. |
