| Abstract: | This paper presents a simple digital position
estimator. Standard BLDC motors come with
embedded hall sensors. The hall sensors provide sector information of shaft position. The proposed digital position estimator takes in the sector information; the estimator output is high accuracy position information. High resolution position signal enables vector control of the
BLDC motor. Such a control reduces the torque
pulsations on the drive shaft. This work is readily applicable to electric two wheelers. This paper presents such a drive; the effectiveness of the estimator is demonstrated through a vector control drive for such an application. |
